  1. Hi Liz and visitors,

I have just completed reading your hellish PayPal story. This is the second I’ve read in a week.

I’m really beginning to realise that my trust in PayPal is undeserved. They really could mess with my account at any time for any reason and it seems they are more than willing to do it.

I’m kind of pleased that a few months ago I joined PayDotCom ( paydotcom.com) at the suggestion of a business partner.

PDC is kind of like Clickbank, but I’m not so sure many people have heard about it or are willing to switch from PayPal.

I’ll be keeping my PayPal account open for my eBay sales and selected other promotions, but may begin using your suggestion to encourage buyers of “digital products” to purcahse through PayDotCom and save 10%.

More information about PayDotCom can be found at paydotcom.com

It may not be right for your specific needs…but what if it is?

    Bye for now,

    Charles

  2. Since having a lot of trouble with paypal - over the last four months I’ve been unable to use paypal at all for purchases of even a dollar - I get frustrated at their lack of action and internet marketers who have no other payment options lose another sale.

  3. Charles -

Your suggestion to “switch” to PDC (PayDotCom) from PayPal makes no sense whatsoever… Why? Because PAYDOTCOM USES **PAYPAL** AS THEIR PAYMENT PROCESSOR! All sales made via your PayDotCom account are paid directly into your PayPal account!

I do agree that PayDotCom is a great alternative to Clickbank for selling digital (or even physical) products. But if PayPal were to shut down your PayPal account….. Your PayDotCom account would be rendered USELESS at that point.

PDC has been talking about the possibility of integrating 2CheckOut payments, but… they haven’t done so as of yet.

  4. Hi Lynn,

I have had the same sort of experience with Pay Pal.

They would not answer emails after limiting my account and even when asked to review my account reviewed someone elses account who was selling the same product as me and refused to lift the ban on transactions on my account. They are begging for internet marketers to revolt against their service or lack of it.

  5. Hi Liz

Im ashamed to say I only actually wanted your ebook so i could brand it with my own details.

Never did i expect such a great read ! Paypay seem to think they can do what they want and until they have a worthy rival then they will continue to do so.

Thanks for the ebook, and the branding, YOUR giveaways make ME look good to my subscribers so thanks!

    take care, sally

  6. I only have PayPal buttons on my website.

However, I myself have not had any problems with PayPal but my son-in-law has.

He was actively selling on Ebay as a Power Seller and because of one frivolous complaint of one of his buyers his PayPal account was frozen.
He aws relying on the income, besides, he was selling for other people and only making a small commission on all sales!
Now he could not pay his customers, could not get his commission and had to fight with PayPal!
It took 30 days to unravel the whole thing and finally his account was “defrosted” but the damage was done! No more selling for others, no more commissions and he lost a ton of money because of lost customers who were entrusting him with big item sales like campers, cars, boats.
Because of the large amounts of money being deposited in his PayPal account and the frivolous complaint he was immediately shut down. BTW the complaint was that the customer didn’t like the color of the car he bought, even though there were about 20 pictures of the car from the outside and the inside, the engine, etc! Go figure some people!

I went to PayDotCom, but…. they do everything through PayPal, so how is THAT going to solve not using PayPal?

How about: AlertPay or GreenZap? Anybody have experience with that?
I need to make a change! also StormPay proved to be a big problem, so that one is out too, besides that now they only use it for their auctions which also flop.

    Any suggestions are welcome!

  7. Hi Liz,

I have had a great response from my newsletter subscribers, all of whom report that same problems. We need to ask “How on earth are eBay (who own PayPal) getting away with this”?

Many of my newsletter subscribers suggest a week long boycott of PayPal and I think this would be a great idea. PayPal is responsible for 21% of eBay’s income. Boycotting PayPal for a week should bring a point home to them I think.

Are you able to co-ordinate this? I would gladly help in every way possible. You have my email, contact me direct if you need to.

Together we stand, united as one and form the voice of power against the global giant.

  8. I wanted to say that this is absolutely horrifying to me. I can’t imagine what some people are going through with PayPal. I wanted to say that I think everyone needs to be extremely careful because if you complain to some of the places who are only accepting Paypal as a option, could be putting their ebay business in jeopardy because who knows exactly who Paypal and Ebay are behind. Just take precautions when you bring this to the attention of a owner of your website as they may by owned or affilliated with paypal or Ebay because of money they are receiving from them

  9. Last month, Paypal send me a mail told me that I’ve received illegal funds so they will “reverse” all the funds. Hey…. They have download all my products!

I have fax, emails… explain everything to Paypal, but they just say “sorry”, the funds which I accept is suspected fraud, so they have reverse back to owner…

  11. Well, it happened to me too!
I cannot even see what the possible reason is, but PayPal has imposed “limited access” to my PayPal account.
I can receive payments, but not withdraw! I cannot close the account either!. Fortunately, I had only $ 0.79 left in the account.
I went to the Resolution Center and wanted to check with the ID number posted when I logged in, and it came back as “no such case ID exists”. So, what is going on there?
No e-mail to advise me of the limitation, nothing.
I am through with them also.
I do need a payment processor though for my website.
I will post on my website that I am not receiving any more PayPal payments and give you book to read, that should help shut them down little by little.

I am now searching for a new payment processor.

  12. More than 4 years ago, just starting out, I opened a PayPal account following their instructions: I called my cousin in America, had HER open a bank account in my name when she got the $200 I sent her, and then she emailed me the account number etc, and I went back to PayPal, $250 poorer, but happy that I’d jumped through all the hoops they require.

Except that they now REQUIRED a Credit-Card! If I HAD a Credit-Card, I wouldn’t have NEEDED PayPal! And it wasn’t in their first round of requirements!

When the Class Action suit came, I was notified and registered at their website. That’s all. I sent letters asking when/what/who? but they just went on without me. I only lost about $2,500 in sales and my $250, but getting it back from their Superior Court settlement might have assuaged my pain somewhat, but NO, PayPal screwed me AGAIN!

eGold, GreenPay and others for ME, this time!

  13. Hi Liz,

I’m sorry that happened to you. I’m glad you’ve stepped up to the plate to rally those of like mind.

I will do my part to let others know that they need to use an alternate resource for doing credit card payments.

What is your opinion of www.CCNOW.com? It cost more for sure, but to avoid heartache like you experienced, it could be viable solution to Paypal.com.

    Keep your chin up.

  14. Speaking of paypal. For two months now, they have gotten into my bank account (since May) and put me in the red and then taken over 400 from account when pension cheques arrived. I need every penny I receive to pay off my three credit cards and they have put me behind so far that I am thinking of going bankrupt just to get rid of the stress. I have tried affiliate marketing but cannot seem to get it going and I have been at it for almost a year now. Any info I can get from anyone to help me begin to make money will be greatly appreciated as I am complete novice when it comes to internet.

  15. Hi Liz
    Good for You!
Although I don’t have a website of my own accepting payment through PayPal - this is making me run scared! I think we’ve really been brainwashed properly, because whenever I see I can pay via PayPal I feel at ease. I never realised that they could actually ruin (inconvenience) so many businesses!
I suppose we could thank our lucky stars for ClickBank ?
    Anybody with other payment processors?????????????

I feel so helpless in my country sometimes, because you feel you have no choice, surely on the internet one should have multiple choice? Considering that it covers the WHOLE WORLD?
